Recently, the Governor’s Highway Safety Association (GHSA) released a report for pedestrian-motor vehicle accident statistics for the year 2015.  Unfortunately, the GHSA estimates a 10% increase in the number of pedestrians killed in motor vehicle crashes in 2015 (compared to 2014 numbers).

Specific to New York, in the first 6 months of 2015, 129 pedestrians were killed in accidents involving motor vehicles, which is a 22% increase over 2014. Three out of every four of these pedestrians were killed while walking at night. One out of every three of these deaths was caused by a drunk driver. And three out of every four of these deaths occurred at non-intersection locations.

LaMarche Safranko Law recently launched to better educate people on how to stay safe while on the roads.  We want all pedestrians and drivers to be safe on the roads, and we are committed to helping those who have been injured as a result of someone else’s negligence.  Please visit to learn more.
